A few days ago Perola and I received word from Chris Flash, a local East Villager and the founder of The Shadow magazine that Portal 1 had been vandalized. Someone had cut out its QR code. We knew that this was likely to happen at some point. “It’s all part of the game.” Perola said with a wink when she heard the news.

It is a challenge to make a game/journey for the people in public space because once on the street, the art belongs to everyone and the people can do with it what they will. It is out of our control.

However, a friend is already on her way to repair the portal and replace the QR code. Hopefully it will remain intact so that people can continue the journey of the 13 Portals.

It’s an art experiment. We hope for the best!
