What’s in your heart?

Sundarban Orphanage in West Bengal was our third Hearts of the World workshop of the India Tour.

My favorite response was from the founder of the workshop himself, Jalaluddin Gazi, a taxi driver who grew up in poverty. At age 7, to his despair, he was pulled from school due to lack of money. Now he’s devoted his life to providing schooling for underprivileged children. He painted a heart during our workshop and said “I painted a chicken and a cow because they give eggs and milk.” I also painted a hand because it receives the eggs and milk and from the hand we also give. As long as my hands can receive, they will also be giving.“
