I am here to stay for awhile!

I gave up my ticket to Columbia to stay here in Rio de Janeiro to immerse myself in this marvelous city and to delve into the FlutuArte (floating art) boat painting project.

There are about 60 paint-able rooftops on boats of varying sizes. My friends and I are inviting people of the community to participate in many ways from prepping, priming and painting, to designing their own boats.

Some more friends from New York are going to come down in the beginning of April to help out. We want to do more than just paint these boats. We want to create a community experience, to unite like-minded people and work as a team to bring inspiration and transformative public art to Rio de Janeiro.

FlutuArte!

I moved out of my cozy pad in Urca and am staying with friends temporarily in the Vidigal favela while I look for an apartment to live in for the next 2.5 months.

What is it like to live in a slum?

So far so good,

Check the view from my living room!

More soon!
